Rameswaram Temple



Ramanathaswamy Temple is located in Rameswaram in state of Tamil Nadu. This temple is one among the Jothilingam temples. Lord Shiva is the prime deity of this temple and he is known here as Ramanathaswamy. People from all over the world come here every year. The temple holds longest pragaram in all of Asia. It is said that people who visit Kasi temple should bring the holy water from river Gangai to complete their holy journey. So you can more devotees coming from north to visit this temple. It is believed that devotee’s dosham will be removed after visiting this temple and it is also believed that Lord Rama had prayed here to lord Shiva for getting relived from brahmahathi dosham. In this temple you can able have spatika lingam darshan in the temple between 5.00 am to 6.00 am by paying 50 rupees. The view of the spatika lingam darshan will be nice as the lingam is surrounded by lamps in between them you can have the holy site. Then after having the spatika lingam darshan devotees will go to sea to have their first theertham. Then after having a bath in sea devotees should go to temple entrance and should pay 25 rupees for having holy theerthams. You should take all theerthams and then you should dry yourself and should wear dry clothes for having Ramanathaswamy darshan. Then you should go to next shrine where you can see goddess Visalakshi amman. You can buy kodi theertham in devasthanam stalls each cost 20 rupees for giving as holy prasadam to you relatives and friends.
