Vekkali Amman Temple is located in Tiruchirapalli in the state of Tamil
Nadu. In this temple you can see there won’t be any roof for the main deity. In
this temple you can see water being stagnated around the main deity shrine to
keep the lord cool. In this temple you can see a whishing tree, where devotees
can write their whishes in a piece of paper sold by the devasthanam and tie
them in the tree there. It is said that goddess will grant whishes which is
good for the devotee’s life. Devotees can also pay some amount to devasthanam
and pull the golden chariot by carrying the uchavar statue of goddess around
the temple. This temple has navagraha and Saneeswaran shrine separately in this
temple, devotees who have 7 ½ sanee come
here to lit oil lamp on Saturdays.
