Thiruthani Murugan Temple



Thiruthani Murugan temple is located in Thirutani in the state of Tamil Nadu. This temple is one among the arupadai veedu. This is the fifth arupadai veedu of lord Murugan. Here lord Murugan is known as Subramanyasamy. It is said that lord Murugan chose this place to calm his anger. People from all over the world come here for the famous Aadi kiruthigai festival and offer their prayers to lord Murugan. Many people come here to take Kavadi, people take bath in the temple’s holy tank and come near the footsteps and pray to gods and then start carrying them till the mountain top by using the steps. Some devotees even tonsure their hair as sign expressing their devotion towards god.
