Tirupathi is located in the
village of Chittor in district of Andra Pradesh. The main deity of this temple
is Lord Venkateshwara famously known as Tirumal. The temple has several hills representing
different gods but as this temple is situated in seven peak known as Venkata
Hill which is popularly called as “Temple of seven Hills”. The great temple is visited
by people more than 50,000 devotees every day. The specialty of this temple is
a tower made of golden roof known as Vimanam where the main deity Lord Venkateshwara
is standing directly inside the roof known as Amanda Nilaya Divya Vimana
bearing Lakshmi Devi on right side and Padvathi on the left side of his chest. The
priest in this temple performs special pooja to Lord Venkateshwara and
decorates him with a yellow cloth and golden jewelers and he is also famous for
his white namma Tilak on his forehead. In this temple different kind of
aradhana with various names and timings takes place by worshiping Lord Venkateshwara
for the goodness of the people and only priest are allows to perform service to
god it is untouched by human. The important festivals celebrated in this temple
are Vaikunda Ekadasi, Rama Navami, Janmastami, Vasanthotsavam in this Brahmotsavam
is celebrated in a very grand manner in the month of September as this Month
according to Tamil calendar Puratasi dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara, the other
major festivals celebrated here is Rathasapthami where the main deity of this
temple Tirumal will be taken around the temple in a chariot. The other famous
activities of this temple is distribution of prasadam Where Tirupathi is famous
for Laddu and other prasadam like sweet pongal, pulioharey, curd rice,
vada and free meals are provided are to
the devotees daily who visit the temple . The devotees who visit the temple
also pray for some special reasons and offer god by putting mottai, a big
Hyundi is kept to offer money, gold as this range to some millions daily. Another
offering done here is thulabharam as the offering material are weighed equally
in two different pans. There is also a paid service called arjitha where
special seva is conducted. In this temple the devotees used to even walk all
the seven hills to visit the Lord Tirumal if they have special prayers. The
people who visit the temple with good faith will receive all the goodness in
life.
