Thiruvidanthai Temple

Thiruvidanthai main deity is Lord Vishnu and this temple is one among the 108 divya desam. In this temple lord Vishnu is known as “Nithya Kalyana Perumal”. The history says that lord in this temple got married to one of 360 gavalaa maharishi daughters each day and finally lord Vishnu have converted all 360 daughters in to one and you can see her on lord Vishnu’s lap. In this temple devotees come to get blessing to get married soon. Devotees need to get a set of flower mala and pooja kit sold outside the temple. Then you need to go to temple tank and sprinkle the holy water on your forehead. Then you should get special archana ticket sold in the devasthanam. Then before entering into the main shire you should break the coconut form the pooja kit. After reaching to main sanidhi you should give the mala to temple priest, he would then do archana and give one mala to you for wearing around your neck. After wearing the mala you should visit thaiyar sanidhi and pray to her as well. Then start walking clock wise to reach boomadevi sanidhi and pray to her as well. Then after doing so you should round nine times around the temple. You should preserve the mala in your house pooja room in a cloth bag. After doing all these you will get married positively in next three months. After getting married you should come with you couple along with preserved mala and again buy the mala and pooja kit and do archana to Lord Vishnu and then you can hang the old mala in the temple tree which is in back side of the temple. This is the specialty of this temple.
