Thillai Nataraja Temple


Thillai Nataraja temple is located in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu. Lord Shiva is the main deity of this temple and this temple is one among the pancha bootha temples. This temple symbolizes Sky form. Chidambaram is said to be the birthplace of the sculpture. Lord Shiva can be seen in the anthropomorphic form. This represents supreme almighty that performs all cosmic activities. You can see two other forms of Lord Shiva are represented close to the inner sanctum are crystallized lingam and you can see fifty golden vilva leaves in an aether space classical element represented with empty space. The sculptures seen in Chidambaram are mostly inspired from bharathanatyam a famous dance form seen in India. You can see lord Shiva in famous pose as Lord Shiva performing the Ananda Tandavam.
